This is according to new research from analytics and research company IDC, which conducted a survey asking some 50,000 people across 25 countries what are their main drivers when it comes to getting a new smartphone.
For iPhone owners, almost one-third of buyers purchased an iPhone based on brand, which was far higher than on the other two platforms. But also 49% of Apple customers chose the device based on battery life, this finding is a surprise as Apple iPhones are known for their poor battery life, and a similar trend was reflected across Android- and Windows Phone-powered smartphone owners.
Major differences between the three operating systems concern screen size – Android and Windows Phone owners are more interested in owning a bigger handset – though many other elements, including weight, size, and Web browsing speed, are viewed as being similarly important for users of all three platforms.
