Technology simplifies the way we perform various tasks at work, and since iPhone’s launch, we find that more and more tech gadgets and inventions appear around our offices, increase our productivity, and also to boost our morale. Here are a few essential apps we asked several tech company CEOs for and our favorite gadgets that will help your work life easier:
Celluon Magic Cube
This is a brilliantly futuristic looking device that feels like it has been pulled straight out of an Iron Man film. Essentially it is a keyboard that gets projected straight onto any surface (such as a desk) out of a tiny box small enough to fit in your pocket. Ultimately this results in an interface that looks incredibly sci-fi and that’s also convenient for carrying around when you want to work on the go, although it dose not give you the most comfortable and responsive typing experience.
Nokia Lumia 1520 Windows 8 Phone
Bigger than a smartphone, but less cumbersome than a tablet, the 1520’s 6-inch screen give you a bigger window to peruse and edit Word and Excel documents while on the move. Key trick: Save them on OneDrive so you can access them from your office when you arrive. Windows Office is included, complete with Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, and the 20-megapixel camera will let you snag pics of your projects and send them to your coworkers who are stuck in the office.
Kinkoo Infinite One 8000mAh Portable Backup Battery Charger
Infinite One takes the smartphone’s biggest complaints and solves it. Its reliable 8000mAh capacity makes you not have to worry about running out of smartphone battery while at work any more, or competing for that one single charging socket in the office. It’s very light to carry at only 5.7oz, so that you can slip it to your bag or pocket and not miss any important business call, especially when you travel outside on the go.
Netsuite’s cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning software tracks just about every aspect of your business, and its mobile app lets you keep an eye on it from anywhere in the world. It just like an ERP system that runs our whole business, from inventory management to web sales and everything in between.
8×8 Virtual Office
8×8 gives you access to your company’s entire phone system, including company directory. It lets you hold online meetings and make free international calls via Wifi. It’s amazing for travel, especially overseas, because it shows all voice mail at the office line and makes free calls globally.
A very good extension of the Basecamp project management software, the Basecamp app lets you organize project participants, set and track project goals, and manage each stage of the process from beginning to end. You can run our product development PLMs in there.
Available in 35 cities across the US, PayByPhone alerts you when your parking meter is about to run out, lets you pay through your phone, and emails you the receipt. It’s surprisingly helpful to people who are constantly on the move.
Self Stirring Mug
We all take tea or coffee while at work, but this Mug will save you the time of stirring with a battery-powered impeller at the bottom of the cup which will spin your cup of tea or coffee rapidly to swirl the liquid at the bottom. All you have to do is to press the button on the handle then you will see the magic in your cup.
